Duet AI for Google Workspace Rebranded as Gemini for Google Workspace
In a recent update posted on the Workspace blog, Google revealed the rebranding of Duet AI for Google Workspace as Gemini for Google Workspace. This strategic shift is accompanied by the integration of Gemini into the entire suite of Workspace applications, catering to the extensive user base relying on these tools daily.
Standalone Gemini for Workspace Experience
Complementing the rebranding, a new standalone Gemini for Workspace experience has been introduced. This allows users to engage in conversations with Gemini on a myriad of topics, expanding the utility of the AI-powered tool.
Gemini for Workspace Subscription Plans
Google has introduced Gemini for Workspace through two subscription plans. Users can opt for the Gemini Enterprise add-on, a successor to Duet AI for Workspace Enterprise, or the more cost-effective Gemini Business add-on. The latter extends access to generative AI for organizations of all sizes.
Enhanced Security with Standalone Chat Experience
A standalone chat experience has been introduced, building upon the consumer-oriented Gemini Advanced. Aparna Pappu, General Manager and Vice President of Google Workspace, highlighted that this service brings enterprise-grade data protection features and copyright indemnification. Leveraging Gemini 1.0 Ultra, the Gemini Advanced service is now extended to teams across various organizational sizes, ensuring secure and private communication.
Leveraging Gemini for Productivity Gains
Pappu provided examples of how teams can leverage Gemini, including analyzing industry trends, product development, and competitor messaging for email marketing campaigns. Additionally, business analysts can use Gemini to identify trends and explore new applications for specific products, fostering adoption and growth.
Seamless Integration into Google Workspace Productivity Tools
Gemini is seamlessly integrated into Google Workspace productivity tools, reaching millions of small businesses globally. The Gemini Business add-on, priced at $20 per user per month, integrates Gemini directly into every Workspace app, enabling tasks such as research analysis, professional editing, customer service, and creative design.
Gemini Enterprise Plan for Heavy Users
For heavy users, the Gemini Enterprise plan, priced at $30 per user per month, provides unfettered access to Gemini, along with AI-powered meeting capabilities, including translation of captions across more than 100 language pairs and soon, meeting note-taking.
Commitment to Privacy
Highlighting Google’s commitment to privacy, Pappu emphasized that conversations within Gemini Business and Gemini Enterprise plans are not utilized for advertising purposes or generative AI training and will remain confidential.
Expansion of Google One AI Premium Plan Offering
In a separate announcement, Esteban Kozak, Director of Product Management for Google One, revealed the expansion of the Google One AI Premium Plan offering. This plan provides access to Gemini Advanced, based on Gemini Ultra 1.0, and is now integrated with Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Meet, promising increased productivity.
Gemini Integration Rollout for Google One AI Premium Plan Subscribers
Gemini integration with Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Meet is rolling out today for Google One AI Premium Plan subscribers in over 150 countries, with support for the English language initially. Kozak also mentioned ongoing efforts to integrate Gemini with Google Workspace for Education, promising more details in the coming weeks.
